characters that are made to look compatible together are meant to be. opposites attract!! i tried to mirror what i believe their height difference is given concept art, but even if i'm wrong, i don't care. they literally look so sexy together that it spawned massive amounts of fanworks by jp fans.

the inherent intimacy and trust to leave your son in another man's care.

to give context, in the original canon of kitaro, kitaro's mother dies before he's born, so, out of respect, mizuki buries her, but kitaro crawls up from the grave. mizuki gets so freaked out seeing kitaro (which honestly who can blame him) that he runs off. papa's lost his body (and comes back due to the love he has for his son) and is now a walking eyeball. knowing he can't give kitaro the childhood he should have, he leads kitaro to mizuki to ask him to raise kitaro. mizuki, riddled with guilt for abandoning the boy, agrees to it. this salaryman literally adopted a freaky ghost baby... for what?!?!?! he doesn't get anything out of it. in fact, kitaro and papa barely mention mizuki after kitaro's backstory is explained.

the new movie is putting an interesting spin on kitaro's birth since they're implying that papa and mizuki knew each other before kitaro was born. official descriptions of the movie refer to them as kitaro's fathers (plural!!). how else am i supposed to take that except in a gay way. you cannot spin two men coparenting an ugly baby as anything but yaoibait. i think they explored each other's bodies before papa's skin literally melted off.

sorry not sorry for yaoi traditionalism, but mizuki is totally kitaro's mom. his entire essense is motherly.

quite literally every scenario that i imagine them in is based on my own speculation and self-indulence. you have no idea how freeing it is to just say whatever i want about them, and no one can tell me i'm wrong.

jp fujoshis have been drawing fanart and writing fic like mad about these two. every single concept i've seen about them has been sexy as fuck. you can't go wrong because we're all looking at the same 1-minute trailer and character sheets. the amount of times i've talked about mizuki getting pregnant is unbelievable. if you think i sound crazy now, i promise you that my discord dms are even worse.
